Overview
windFIT is an exciting service which allows you to analyse wind loads to assure optimum wind turbine suitability for your site. windFIT provides a comprehensive analysis of site wind characteristics, machine loads assessment, and enhanced turbine suitability modelling respecting dynamic wind loads.
The windFIT service is specifically tailored to developers, financiers and operators to help solve the wind / yield / loads balance by providing a comprehensive understanding of the project at the early stage of development.
windFIT is a cutting edge analytical tool that is available to complement our world-class resource analysis service and offers unprecedented front-end understanding of wind turbine suitability for all sites.
Air density and ambient turbulence may be understood, but often important parameters such as flow inclination, wind speed shear across the rotor and effective wake turbulence are broadly neglected.
Our windFIT service combines these elements, taking into account the non-linearity in the interaction of individual load contributors, to provide a realistic assessment of site specific turbine suitability risk.
windFIT has been deployed on projects totalling many hundreds of MW, and also in combination with CFD on very complex terrain.
