Martin, who has over a decade of experience in the wind energy sector, will head up a team of experts at the company’s new offices in central Hamburg.

Martin, who holds a masters degree in Civil Engineering commenced work in the wind industry in 1997 with Vestas where he held several management positions including responsibility for large projects in Italy and the US, coordination of offshore activities in Denmark and then later Projects Director for Central Europe. In 2002, Martin joined offshore wind installation contractor A2SEA as Sales & Marketing Director and was quickly appointed to the Executive Board as Chief Sales Officer and Managing Director of A2SEA Deutschland.

Since 2007, Martin has been working as Managing Director of Airtricity Germany (now SSE Renewables) and Project Director of the 288MW Butendiek Offshore Windpark. In 2010, Martin was appointed Group Supply Chain Executive of SSE Renewables.

Joining PMSS, Martin said:

With the new Hamburg office we are now able to provide our specialised services for the major developers and financing industry, based on direct work done in construction of the majority of Europe’s offshore wind projects. Hamburg hosts today the centre of excellence in terms for offshore wind in Germany.”

PMSS has been at the forefront of the Offshore Wind industry since 1999 and has provided full life-cycle consultancy services to over 90% of the UK’s Round 1 and Round 2 projects as well as a wide selection of projects in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Norway and USA.

The company has already been engaged on a number of offshore wind projects in Germany including Innogy Nordsee 1 and Global Tech 1 with roles ranging from health & safety and project management advice, to technical due diligence for investors.
